Pelvic adhesion is a common complication after gynecological surgery, which can cause acute recurrent intestinal obstruction, infertility, chronic pelvic pain and so on. Surgical trauma is the main factor leading to postoperative adhesion, which makes minimally invasive surgery specially important. Da Vinci robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery system is a major breakthrough after laparoscopic technology, which opens up a new way of minimally invasive surgery in gynecology. This article reviews the mechanism and etiology of pelvic adhesions and the advantages of Da Vinci robotic surgery system in the prevention and treatment of pelvic adhesions.
